Hirer’s Guide to Vamuz II

Fuel Type

DIESEL fuel is required to fill the camper.

Camper Height

The camper will fit under any bridges, shopping centres awning or other low access points 2.3m or higher. If you have surfboards or larger items tied to the roof the height will need to be increased accordingly

Off Road Use

Please notify us if you intend on taking the camper off-road. The vehicle is not insured for beach driving and you will be liable for damages that occur on the beach. Please advise of planned dirt road usage and we can give approval to access for this.

Beach Driving

Camplify does not cover the vehicles for beach driving. Please read Off Road Driving for information on the liability

Occasionally when camping in some of the national parks where the entry tracks are soft sand, you may find it’s helpful to deflate the tyres for easier access. When driving in soft sand it’s advisable to lower the tyre pressure to 16-20psi. You can monitor the tyre pressure on the dash feature by scrolling through the menu until you find the tyre pressure display or you can use the tyre pressure release valve found in the compressor bag.

When returning to sealed roads of solid hard surface tracks, it’s important to put the pressure back up to 38psi. If you don’t put the pressure back up you’ll damage the tyre and will need to be charged to replace them if they’re returned in an unroadworthy state.

Tolls usage

Tolls are automatically billed to an account linked to the camper. This covers all tolls around Australia and the hirer will be billed for these tolls at the end of the hire..

Pulling into camp and setting up

Best setup for parking

For a comfy sleep it’s best to plan ahead when pulling into your camp spot. The sleeping arrangements are designed to have your head at the front end of the camper so keep this in mind if you’re parking up on a slight slope. You want to have your head at the high side of the slope so angle the van down towards the driver at the back of the ute.

Setting up the awning

Check the weather conditions first and if it’s not too windy then unzip the awning cover using the long wire attached to the zipper.

There adjustable cords, pegs, and a hammer are located in the driver’s side under tray tool box

Plugging in your 200 watt solar blanket

There’ll be 2 anderson plugs between the cab and the canopy on the passenger side of the canopy. The two anderson plugs closest to the edge of the canopy are for the solar blanket to plug into.

When you pull up to camp, find a spot that catches the most unobstructed sunlight and point the solar panels directly to the sun where possible. Be careful not to drive off with your solar blanket still plugged in.

Setting up camp

There’s a collapsible table for placing your cooker on. Camp chairs are provided with the hire with bigger ones for adults and smaller ones for kids.

Water usage

There 20L of stored water that can be connected to the water heater for showers or washing dishes. There’s also 20L of drinking water and 20L of additional water in the jerry can on the back of the canopy. IN total you’ll have 60L of water storage on the canopy.

Shower

The outdoor shower tent is on the drivers side of the camper and needs to be set up at the start of your camp and disconnected and packed away at the end.

Toilet use (Must be returned emptied and cleaned otherwise $100 cleaning fee)

The toilet has a blue waste tank solution to be added to the tank when using. Please read the directions on the bottle of the solution so you know how much to add. The blue solution can be added by opening the lid, opening the lever on the front of the toilet and pouring it straight.

Please keep the lever that opens up the toilet shoot OPEN when using the toilet and close it once you’ve flushed and finished.

Pink flushing solution is added by unscrewing the cap closest to the sliding door and adding it in this tank. Please read the directions and add water to this solution.

Packing up

Before driving please check the following:

-   Rooftop tent is closed and all of the fabric is tucked in properly and not hanging out the sides

- Check the fridge still has power to it and is still turned on

-   All loose items are stored away

-   Cooker and kitchen box are strapped down

-   Ladder to rooftop tent is put away

Packing up the awning

Release the adjustable cord that secures the awning to the drivers side of the camper. The awning will fold in neatly. Once all arms are folded away, start rolling from the bottom corner and front of the camper.

Returning the Camper

Washing

Please remove excess mud and dirt from the exterior before returning. Small amount of general driving bugs, dirt and dust is fine but if there’s excessive dirt (thick red dirt dust) and mud all over the camper please give it quick spray down with a high pressure water gun at a car wash (do not try to clean it with a drive through car wash as you’ll damage the rooftop tent).

If you drive down sandy tracks please remove as much of the sand and salt water as quickly as you can. If you can access and underbody wash it’d be appreciated if you could clean the underbody of the car.

Refueling

The camper is to be returned with a full tank of diesel.

Damage

Please report any damage to the exterior, interior or equipment during the hand over when dropping the van off. Reimbursement of the cost of repairs will be quoted and payment can be arranged once reviewed

Drop off time

Drop off time is flexible but if returning the van directly to Vamuz II location we  try to keep this between 6am and 9pm.  Please arrange a time with plenty of warning.
